Storage capacity
Storage capacity is the amount of space you have available for all the HTML documents, images and other files that make up your website.
A small website with just a few pages and a handful of images should find the storage in our Starter package sufficient, but if you expect to display large numbers of images or videos then you may want to consider a Home or Business package.
Monthly bandwidth
Your monthly bandwidth allowance is the amount of data that can be downloaded from and uploaded to your website each month. The amount of bandwidth you require will be a product of how popular your website is, and how bandwidth intensive the resources your visitors use are. Images and videos in particular require a lot of bandwidth.
MySQL databases
All our hosting packages allow you to create an unlimited number of databases for any use. Databases have no size restrictions except as imposed by the package's storage capacity. Your databases can be easily administered through a phpMyAdmin web interface.
FTP accounts
FTP is a way of uploading files to your web hosting space. With multiple FTP accounts you can allow different users to access your hosting by FTP. Each user may be configured to have restricted access to specific directories, so you have complete control over who can access what.
E-mail mailboxes
From cPanel you can create and remove mail accounts, set up auto-responders, redirection and spam filters, and manage mailing lists.
Sub-domains
Sub-domains provide an excellent way of structuring your website into easily identifiable sections. Each sub-domain directs to a directory of the same name. For example, the subdomain:
sub.webcrate.co.uk
would point to the contents of the /sub directory. Sub-domains can also be configured to redirect to any other address.
